Tamil Fish Curry : Today I am going to share the preparation of Tamil Fish Curry recipe. Meen recipe preparation in this method is very delicious and I learned this traditional Tamil fish curry from my grand mother. Here, we people are using grated coconut but in Kerala fish curry Tamil cooking people usually use coconut milk for fish cooking. Ingredients Needed to Prepare Fish Curry Tamil Nadu Style
Fish -1 / 2 kg
Onion – 200gm
Tomato – 200gm
Garlic – 1/4cup
Turmeric powder -1 / 4 tsp
Chilly -4 tsp
Coriander powder -2 tsp
Mustard – 1tsp
Cumin seeds powdered – 2tsp
Poppy seeds – 1/2tsp
Fenugreek seeds – 1/2tsp
Tamarind – lemon sized
Salt and oil - as needed
Coconut – ½ cup
Tamil Fish Curry Grinding ingredients
(Dry fry and grind nicely)
Coriander powder, tomato
Cumin powder, poppy seeds,
Chilli, curry leaves, coconut
How to cook fish curry Tamil Style
This is the recipe of Fish curry in Tamil language people preparation.
Clean and cut the fish into medium sized pieces,
Soak the tamarind in hot water and extract juice, keep it aside,
Take a pan, add some oil, heat and sauté mustard, fenugreek seeds,
Then put curry leaves and ground fish curry Tamil masala,
Mix well for 2 minutes, add salt and pour tamarind juice,
Let the kuzhambu (gravy) to boil for some time (10minutes)
Now add the fish carefully, switch off the stove for a single boil.
The very delicious Tamil fish curry with coconut is ready to taste.
Note: instead of using grated coconut for grinding masala you can prepare Tamil fish curry using coconut milk (grind and extract 1 glass of coconut milk for this measurement).
