Coimbatore Annapoorna Sambar Recipe Murungakai Sambar Preparation


Coimbatore Annapoorna Sambar Recipe 
Coimbatore Annapoorna Hotel is very famous in Kovai for its delicious Tiffin varieties and Annapoorna sambar.  annapoorna sambar-vada is very special in Coimbatore annapoorna restaurant. 
Here I have shared the information of special sambar prepared in Hotel Annapoorna Coimbatore RS Puram. This is the best side dish for idli and rice.
I will share the preparation of my favorite Murungakai Sambar recipe with you.

Coimbatore Annapoorna Sambar Recipe Ingredients
Sambar onions - 25
Tamarind - small lime size
Tomato - 2
Lentil - 1/2 cup
Sambar powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Green chillies – 1
Drumstick 2
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt as required

Annapoorna Sambar Recipe Masala Ingredients
Small onion – 6
Coriander - 1 tsp
Coconut - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves - little

Sautéing Ingredients
2tsp Oil,
1tsp mustard, 
1tsp cumin seeds, 
A pinch of asafetida, 
Curry leaves as required

Coimbatore Annapoorna Sambar Recipe Preparation
Add a cup of water and boil Lentil in a pressure cooker
Soak Tamarind in hot water and extract the juice
Grind the Annapoorna Sambar Recipe Masala Ingredients nicely
Take a pan and add little oil, then add the cumin seeds, mustard, green chillies, and asafetida and curry leaves.
Then add the sambar onion, chopped tomatoes and a pinch of turmeric powder and Murungakai.
Now add sambar podi and the ground masala ingredients. Stir well in low flame.  
Finally add the boiled lentil and mix together, let it to boil for ten minutes.
Murungakai Sambar is best with rice and idli.
If you add brinjal with this, delicious kathirikai sambar recipe is ready to taste.

what is lentil mean in tamil? tuvaram paruppu ? if u can tell murugakkai in tamil y cant u put the tamil name of lentil ?? please tell clearly

I did add some spinach too (1/2 cup)

Sure Anu,
You can add spinach but add very less. Otherwise it will change the taste bitter.

Thanks for the wonderful recipe.I made this and it almost so close and taste was awesome. For making the masala, I fried the ingredients. The question is should we fry the ingredients or should we just grind it

You have not specified when to add the tamrind water and salt. How much water to add to get the right consistsnncy.
